The Wardrobe Shrewsbury
Fashion is always changing and so is the way we shop.
People buy clothes that make them look and feel good, but we’re all guilty of holding on to things we no longer reach for when deciding what to wear. The Wardrobe is a place where people can buy high-end fashion items that don’t cost the earth (figuratively and literally) and sell no-longer-loved pieces to people who will give them a new lease of life!
Paying you for items that we sell
If your item is sold, we will pay you 50% of the sale price (60% if the item is over £100). You also have the option of being paid in store credit and vouchers if you prefer, this gives you the opportunity to help support circular fashion and the environment, this is a voluntary option only.
Due to covid 19 we are now cashless and payments will be made via bank transfer.
What we accept
We accept designer and high-street labels with a value of £45 and above but they need to be in good condition and clean, ironed, and/or dry-cleaned. Clothes should be seasonal, so Winter items will only be accepted during the Winter months.
Bringing items in
You can bring in clothes for consideration by appointment only, as we have to quarantine your clothes for 72hrs. We will select the items we are happy to sell and jointly agree a price.
Displaying your items
We will display the item(s) for 8 weeks and then the item(s) will go onto our Sale Rail for 2 weeks at a discounted price of approximately 30%. At 10 weeks the item will be taken off the shop floor. We will store it for you for 1 week before giving it to charity. Please note that due to such a high number of sellers / items, we are not able to contact you with reminder emails or texts. It is up to you to keep track of the dates; you can collect your item at any point within the 11-week period.
All About Us
Use, Reuse, Recycle. The future of fashion needs to be greener.
These days, people go into cheap high-street shops and buy something for £10, wear it a few times and give it away/throw it away. It’s terrible. I decided to start fixing things, or turn old items of clothing into new pieces. It really made me think that we needed a place where clothes recycling was introduced as a good and fun concept. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t want to find a Mulberry handbag, a XXX dress or a XXX pair of heels in perfect condition for a fraction of the price! I’m really passionate about it and never buy new clothes any more.
The Wardrobe Shrewsbury is the brainchild of Emma Allman-Shuttleworth, an interior designer based in Shropshire…
“I’ve always been interested in fashion’ she explains, “and went on a bit of a mission to spend less on new clothes as it was starting to worry me how much waste there was, not just in the food and drink sector, but in fashion too.
